This intimate sculptural work by metal aritist Yoshiro Iwaisako centers on a mouse (hamster) as its motif.

A creature that would ordinarily flee is transformed through the symbolic act of wearing a kabuto helmet. Clad in armor far too large for its small body, the mouse stands poised for departure―an arresting image of vulnerability confronting confrontation.

In this acclaimed series, animals typically cherished for their gentleness assume the visual language of the samurai. By donning helmets and armor, they embody a quiet yet resolute courage, confronting their natural enemies as well as the unseen adversaries within. The works function not merely as charming figures, but as metaphors―reflecting the human condition and the tension between fear and determination.

Through modest in scale, the piece commands a distinct presence. It invites contemplation while serving as a refined contemporary accent within an interior space, and as a compelling addition to a curated art collection.
