June Yoda Special Feature

On Show-Mon Art Online Store, we are introducing original cloisonné works (Shippo) made in a workshop that has been specializing in cloisonné for nearly 50 years, with the intention of preserving traditional crafts that Japan can be proud of and passing them on to the future.

The number of workshops specializing in cloisonné has been decreasing in recent years due to the changing times, and this is one of the only workshops remaining to this day.
However, traditional Japanese crafts have quality and design that attracts attention from overseas, and it is expected that they will gain even more recognition in the future.

The products produced by this workshop, which has the largest market share in Japan, are sold at major department stores and government agencies across the country, and boast a high level of trust and proven performance.

Please enjoy the high quality and design of traditional Japanese crafts in your hands.

[What is cloisonné crafts (Shippo)?]
Shippo ware is a craft in which a glassy glaze is baked onto metal.
It originated in ancient Egypt before the Common Era, then spread to Europe and then to Japan via the Silk Road.
Over its long history, the techniques have been refined in Japan, and today it is recognized around the world as a traditional craft that represents our country.

At Show-Mon Art, we discover, nurture, manage and hold exhibitions for artists who create artworks that incorporate contemporary culture on a global scale while being rooted in traditional Japanese culture (philosophy, art, design, technology, materials, etc.).
We will continue to work together with artists, aiming to attract even more attention from around the world to Japanese art culture and to bring about the day when more excellent artists from Japan are able to be active around the world.

What is Show-Mon Art?

In order to further develop Japan's art-related industry, the foundation was established in 2023 with the aim of creating and providing opportunities for artists who transform Japan's traditional and contemporary culture into artworks, create and present them, to plan and hold art exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, and sell their works.
