This painting depicts a cat curled up and napping, created by Sanae Fujiwara, a talented young female Nihonga artist whose works are part of the collection at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo.
The charming tuxedo cat, curled up and sound asleep in a peaceful scene, is depicted with Ms. Fujiwara's characteristic colorful and bright palette and three-dimensional expressive techniques.
In Japan, tuxedo cats, with their fur color dividing like the kanji character "八" (hachi) from their forehead to their nose, are considered auspicious and are very popular.
It's an adorable and exquisite piece that will soothe your soul just by looking at it!
Why not decorate your room with a painting by Sanae Fujiwara, an artist who creates bright and energetic artworks using iwa-enogu, a traditional Japanese painting material?
It's also a valuable piece for any art collection!

Sanae FUJIWARA
Sanae Fujiwara is a talented and popular young female Nihonga artist whose works are part of the collection at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo.
Using flowers, living creatures, and everyday scenes as motifs, she expresses the energy residing in objects on the canvas through her original and vibrant color arrangements.

Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Nihonga Major (2021)
Completed Master's Program in Japanese Painting, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts (2023)
I depict the energy and the flow of air that I feel when I see the motifs.
I express energy with color, and the flow of air with the direction of the brush and the shape of stains naturally formed on the base.
I hope to create artworks that give people vigor and courage.
